Sygic GPS Navigation supports Android Auto, but the app may be missing from the car screen or may disconnect because of licensing, phone or vehicle settings, an unsuitable USB cable, outdated software, or an incomplete connection.
Safety note: Perform these checks while the vehicle is parked in a safe location.
1. Check Your Sygic License
Sygic states that its premium Android Auto features are available to eligible Premium+ subscribers and users with a qualifying older Premium lifetime license. In Sygic, open Menu > Sygic Store > All your licenses and confirm that the correct license is active.
2. Confirm the Basic Requirements
- The phone and vehicle must support Android Auto.
- Android Auto must be enabled on both the phone and the infotainment system.
- Sygic GPS Navigation and Android Auto should be updated through Google Play.
- The phone should use a supported Android version.
3. Check the Android Auto Launcher
- Open the Android Auto settings on the phone.
- Select Customize launcher.
- Find Sygic and make sure it is enabled.
The exact path differs between phone manufacturers. Searching for “Android Auto” in Settings is usually the quickest method.
4. Reconnect the Phone
- Disconnect the phone from the vehicle.
- Restart the phone and the infotainment system.
- Open Sygic on the phone and prepare the route.
- Reconnect the phone and open Sygic from the car display.
5. Test the Cable and USB Port
For wired Android Auto, use a short, good-quality cable that supports data transfer—not a charging-only cable. Try another compatible cable and the vehicle’s designated Android Auto USB port. Inspect the connectors for dirt or damage. If wireless Android Auto is unstable, test a wired connection to determine whether the wireless link is responsible.
6. Use the Official App Version
Install Sygic GPS Navigation from Google Play. Unofficial or modified APK files may be outdated, unsafe, or incompatible with Android Auto. If the official apps are already installed, update them before considering a reinstall.
7. Reinstall Only After Basic Checks
If the issue continues, reinstall Android Auto or Sygic using Google Play. Before reinstalling Sygic, confirm that the license is linked to the correct account and that any required data is synchronized.
When to Contact Sygic Support
Provide the phone model, Android version, Sygic and Android Auto versions, vehicle make and model, connection type, and the troubleshooting steps already attempted. A short recording made while the vehicle is parked can help demonstrate the problem.
