Google Pixel Watch 5 Appears in Official Google Health App Ahead of Hardware Event

Google’s next-generation wearable appears to be moving toward a release, surfacing within the company’s own app infrastructure. The Pixel Watch 5 has appeared as a selectable device in the Google Health app’s device list. While the device is visible in the application, Google has not officially confirmed the product's existence or its technical specifications.

App Appearance and Interface

Users have identified the Pixel Watch 5 as a selectable option within the Google Health companion application. Selecting the device reportedly opens a dedicated setup page and a connection prompt, signaling that the software environment is being prepared for the hardware. Despite the listing, current app screenshots use placeholder artwork from the Pixel Watch 4 rather than new designs.

Technical Specifications and FCC Filings

While an official announcement is pending, technical details for the lineup have surfaced through developer and regulatory channels. A Google Play Console entry for a device codenamed "godric" lists 3GB of RAM, an increase from the 2GB found in previous models. This memory upgrade is expected to support Wear OS performance and multitasking.

FCC filings from late June identified four model numbers (G25QD, G1XJ6, G0F3Y, GFW3R) with support for the following connectivity standards:

  • LTE and Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth and NFC
  • Ultra-wideband (UWB)
  • Satellite SOS support (NTN Bands 23 and 255)

The wearable is expected to be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Rumored color options include Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite, and Warm Gold.

Unconfirmed Details and Rumors

Information regarding the specific product mix remains conflicting. Some regulatory filings only show LTE-equipped models, leading to speculation that Google could move away from Wi-Fi-only variants. However, other reports suggest that Wi-Fi-only models still exist.

Pricing for the new generation also remains unknown. While some reports mention a potential $50 price increase, this has not been verified. Similarly, the use of a new "wearable-class Tensor chip" remains an unconfirmed claim.

Scheduled Event

Google has scheduled a hardware event for August 12, 2026. The Pixel Watch 5 is anticipated to launch at this event alongside the Pixel 11 series of smartphones.
